Clinics/Commissions/Consulting
I’ve had the privilege of doing clinics, seminars, and all-state/conference group conducting in several states as well as performing as guest soloist at colleges, high schools and festivals throughout the western United States and abroad. During it’s existence, I frequently presented for the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) and was a member of it’s resource team. I’ve also presented on numerous occasions for the Music Educators National Conference (MENC). Please call, write, or e-mail for details. References can be provided at your request. Common clinic topics include:
- The Developing Drummer
- One Big Person – (Rhythm Section Workshop)
- How Short IS That Short Note? – (Jazz Ensemble Rehearsal Techniques)
- How About The Melody? – (Using Melody As A Tool For Improvisation)
The spring is a busy time for festival adjudication which I am invited to do on a regular basis. Call or e-mail to discuss availability.
Commissioned Compositions and Arrangements
From time to time, I do a LIMITED number of commissioned selections for high school and college level ensembles. Fees vary depending on the project. Call or e-mail with what you would like for a composition or arrangement tailored specifically to the strengths and weaknesses of your group! References can be provided at your request.

I am a jazz&blues guitar player, age 17. I would like to get all the information available to help me prepare for the All State jazz audition in December, 2009. Do you feel your clinics may help or do you recommend some other way of preparation.
Thanking you in advance.
Taylor
Taylor,
The best way for you to prep for your audition is with a qualified private teacher assisting you with concepts like those spoken about in the video.
